Burglary on Cactus Drive
September 30, 2010
Burglars (sometimes known as the self-employed) struck a house in the 3000 block of Cactus Drive (Quail Hollow North subdivision) on September 27. A witness reported seeing a man, wearing a white shirt, walk up to the door of the residence and kick its door open. According to the homeowner, the perpetrator stole a Samsung 47 inch HDTV and a red Dell laptop.
The burglar is described as in his earlt 20`s. Two vehicles were involved: one, a gray Malibu, and the other, a black Mercury Grand Marquis.

Series of Vehicle Burglaries
September 30, 2010
A number of vehicle burglaries was reported the night of Saturday, September 25, continuing into Sunday morning, September 26. Total offenses reported were ten (10). These occurred in the following locations: East Sugar Cane Rd., Las Brisas Drive, 2100 block of S. Texas, Forest Lane, East 18th St., and 2500 block of Lancelot.
In each case, save one, the burglar broke a vehicle window to enter. Some of the items taken are Ann Taylor sunglasses, a golf bag with 14 clubs, a flash drive, XM satellite receiver, a Tom Tom GPS, and a faceplate to a Sony Xplode car stereo. There is no suspect information.

Riding Mower Stolen from Encinos Apartments
September 30, 2010
Sometime between September 20 and 21, someone forced the lock to a storage room door and took a riding mower. This occurred at an apartment complex on Moreland Drive, near the new bowling alley. The mower is a green John Deere, model MDX300, worth over $3,000.

Thieves Strike Anderson Columbia
September 13, 2010
Anderson Columbia Construction (formerly Summit Contracting), 2210 N. Vo-Tech Drive, was struck by burglars between September 11 and 13. Thieves cut chains to access the compound and locks off storage units so that they could steal property. They took a DeWalt generator, Model 6500; and Echo weedeater; and a Stihl weedeater.

Trailer Stolen from American Cleaning

Sometime during the weekend of September 10-12, thieves entered the premises of American Cleaning, 2018 East Expressway, and stole a Big Tex trailer with a Hydro Tec professional pressure washer and a 300 gallon tank. The suspects cut a chain to access the property. The stolen property was worth over $12,000.

Vehicles Painted White

During the nighttime hours of Saturday, September 11, vandals cruised around the south side of town spraying white paint on vehicles parked along the street. They hit South Ohio, Audrey Drive, Ash Street, Hidden Valley Drive, and Wimbledon Drive. The budding artist even sprayed the outline of a penis on the side of a red Chevrolet pickup. A possible suspect vehicle is a white Chevrolet Impala. If you know who these "jokers" are, "burn them" and earn cash at the same time. The number is 968-TIPS. Call today.
Storage Shed Burglarized

On Tuesday, September 7, during the day, a backyard storage shed was broken into at 504 S. Louisiana. The burglar forced open the gate to a perimeter fence and the door to the shed. Taken were a green Yard Machines weedeater, a red Craftsman saw, and [GET THIS!] a box containing 40 rolls of toilet paper. Quite a haul!

Theft at Holiday Inn

On Wednesday, August 25, at about 11:40pm, two men drove into the Holiday Inn`s parking lot, parked next to a Chevrolet pickup truck, and went to work. In just 5 minutes, the men stole the hood, headlight units, and front grill of the 2006 Silverado pickup. Surveillance video shows the men methodically removing the parts and placing them in their own pickup and driving away.

Neuhaus & Company Victim of Theft

Two John Deere riding mowers were stolen from the fenced compound of Neuhaus & Company the night of Wednesday, August 19. Perpetrators cut the perimeter fence of the company, entered the area, removed two mowers from the crates they came in and drove off with them. One was a Model LA105; the other a Model X324. Together they are worth over $6,000. Pictures of similar mowers are found below:

Boys/Girls Club Hit

The Weslaco Boys/Girls Club, housed at 500 S. Kansas, has been the victim of two burglaries and one theft during a span of six weeks. The first crime, a theft, occurred the weekend of July 9, when a Toshiba laptop computer was stolen from the office. The thieves even took the computer`s box which had been stored in a closet. There was no sign of forced entry.
The next incident, a burglary, occurred overnight August 9. This time a window was broken to gain access to the building. An Acer laptop computer was taken, along with some candy (kids?).
The third burglary occurred August 18-19, between 7pm and 8:30am. This time, several itmes were taken: 2-Play Station 2 game systems and 2-DVD players. Another window was broken to gain entry.
