Robbery at Sally Beauty Supply

Weslaco Police are looking for one male suspect in the May 31st robbery of Sally Beauty Supply in the HEB-north shopping center. At about noon, on that Sunday, a lone male entered the store and demanded all the money from the clerk on duty. Brandishing a knife, not satisfied with the money from the register, he ordered the employee to give him money from the safe. The employee showed him there was no money in the safe. Disappointed, the man quickly backed out of the store and disappeared to the south of the HEB complex.

      The suspect is described as Hispanic, 20-30 years of age, 6 feet tall, weighing 250 pounds. He had a shaved head. He wore a black long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and a black cap. To disguise himself, he wore a blue surgical mask.

Robbery in Home Depot Parking Lot

In the parking lot of Home Depot, two men, driving by the garden center, were threatened with what they thought was a gun and had 2 suitcases stolen from the bed of their pickup truck. This robbery, which occurred on Tuesday, May 19, at about 10:30am, happened when a Chevrolet Tahoe cut the victims` truck off, forcing it to stop. One man got out of the SUV, hurried to the bed of their pickup, and grabbed the 2 suitcases. When one of the victims tried to reclaim his property, one occupant of the Tahoe threatened to kill him as he reached for something inside the car. The suitcases were later recovered on the side of the road on Westgate Drive. One of the 4 Hispanic males inside the suspect vehicle was described as dark complected and heavyset. Their SUV was a gray Tahoe with Ohio license plates. A trailer, about 8 feet in length, with a high rear gate, was being pulled by the Tahoe. Call Crime Stoppers if you have information.

Burglary at "old Caldwell"

Sometime between May 11 and 20, burglars broke into the old International Woods building in the Mid Valley Industrial Park and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment. Some of the items srolen were 1) a forklift; 2) Miller Mig arc welders; 3) several Dell desktop computers; 4) burning kits with torches; 5) a distressing wheel; and 6) 10-UV light bulbs. Frontera Audubon Burglarized
May 22, 2009

The building of Frontera Audubon`s headquarters at 1101 S. Texas Blvd. was broken into on Tuesday, May 19, at 7pm. Taken in the burglary were a Dell laptop computer and its external hard drive. Other minor items were stolen but were recovered on the grounds of the wetlands. Evidence indicates that three males committed the burglary and traveled toward the southeast on foot. Burglary at X-Tec Car Audio

A new business, X-Tec Car Audio, 105 N. Texas, was burglarized sometime this weekend. Burglars broke a window, entered the premises, and stole a great deal of merchandise. Among the items were Sony car stereos, amplifiers, radios, and portable TV sets. Other items were an MD power amplifier, Pioneer radios, and TV/DVD combos. If some enterprising entrepreneur has been selling such distinctive "cut rate" items at "fire sale" prices on the street, call Weslaco Crime Stoppers instead. We want to know who this criminal is. "Pocket" Burglary

Pocket Communications, located at 2422 East Business 83, was burglarized early Friday morning, May 15, at 1:20. One man broke the glass in the front door, entered, broke into a display case and stole a number of Blackberry cell phones. LOWES SITE VICTIMIZED

During the night of Thursday, April 30, one of more individuals attacked the site of the new Lowe`s store and damaged cosntruction equipment, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage. Other items at the site also were damaged. These vandals contaminated the diesel in fuel tanks with dirt and chemicals from fire extinguishers, broke windshields and wipers, sprayed white paint on various pieces of equipment. Other damage was done, to light fixtures ready to be installed. CARJACKING AT EL PATO

At the El Pato parking lot, 209 N. Westgate, on May 1, two men stole a red 2008 Chevrolet Aveo by forcing the 2 female victims from the car. First, the males approached the females, asking for money. Then, one pulled the driver from the car, while the other male pushed the female who was outside the car to prevent her from getting in. One male is 5ft, 6in, with shaved head, weighing about 180 pounds. He wore sunglasses on top of his head. The other male, with black hair and a mustache, also wore sunglasses. VACATION TIME BLUES

Between April 2 and 17, someone broke into a home and storage building in the 3900 block of Agassi Street, in the Las Brisas subdivision and took almost every valuable item in the house and then some. This, while the residents were out of town!  A few of the stolen items are the following: Sony 55-inch high definition TV, Memorex recorder, Dell laptop, gold jewelry, Hitachi cordless drill, Eureka and Kirby vacuum cleaners, table saw and miter saw, and even a piggy bank. Many more items were stolen. It’s likely that many of these stolen items have been sold to “honest” people on the street. THEFT ON PANAMA STREET
May 03, 2009

At a house under construction, on Panama Street, in Bellaire subdivision, on Weslaco’s southwest side, thieves made off with the contractor’s tools and equipment. This theft occurred the night of April 27. Among items stolen were a Husky table saw and tile saw, 2-DeWalt circular saws, 2-Hitachi nail guns, 2-staple guns by Duo Fast and Ridgid, and a Porter-Cable air compressor with 3-nail guns.
