FAMSA REVISITED

After being burglarized on March 20, the Famsa Warehouse was again hit on April 29, during the early morning hours. This time, the burglars forced their way through a wall and headed straight for the consumer electronics products. Among the booty taken were Sony laptop computers, Sony camcorders and digital still cameras, Pioneer car stereos, Sony Play Stations, Winvision desktop computers, and one (1) Panasonic 50-inch plasma TV. ROBBERY AT CITY PARK
April 14, 2009

A local woman had a bad shock when she started to exercise at Weslaco City Park on Saturday, April 4. At about 7am, the 31-year-old woman was approached by a lone male, who grabbed her, demanding money. The woman yelled for help, scaring the man away. He is described as muscular, between 26 and 30 years of age, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 150 pounds. He had a tattoo on his neck. He wore a white muscle shirt and black shorts. TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE

On Tuesday night, March 24, one burglary became two. How? Burglars broke into the south wall of the building, housing a beauty salon and two cell phone retailers. First, they knocked through the concrete block wall, south of Boost Mobile, took a load of cell phones and accessories, and then proceeded to break the sheetrock between the phone store and the salon. It is unknown if they took anything from the salon.  The burglaries happened between 10pm, Tuesday, and 9am, Wednesday. These businesses are located at 1729 W. Business 83, near the Stripes store, in the newly annexed area.

FAMSA WAREHOUSE #1

      Burglars broke into the Famsa Warehouse, 715 W. Pike, on March 20. They broke through a rear window, entered, and stole electronics merchandise. Included were several high definition flat screen TV sets and laptop computers. If you have information about this burglary, call 968-TIPS.

LILIA DRIVE BURGLARY
March 03, 2009

On February 27, police took reports on two burglaries of habitation that occurred near each other. The first one, of an apartment at 1006 Lilia Drive, just west of N. Border, occurred between 12 noon and 8pm. One or more burglars forced open the apartment door and stole a Sharp high definition 46 inch television set, worth over a thousand dollars. The second burglary, of a residence in the 800 block of Hidden Trace, occurred between 7:30 and 8pm. EXPRESSWAY HEIGHTS BURGLARIES
February 20, 2009

 Over the past 2 weeks (Feb 8-18), a number of burglaries and thefts have occurred at Expressway Heights in northwest Weslaco. Most of these crimes have taken place during the nighttime. In some cases, a set of bolt cutters has been used on locks or fences. Items stolen include weed eaters, power tools, such as drills, a chainsaw, a window air conditioner, a guitar in its case, and even a Chihuahua. The dog was recovered by its owner from a suspect who lives on Corpus Christi Drive in the subdivision.

BURGLARY ON SAPPHIRE
February 04, 2009

A residence in the 1000 block of Sapphire was burglarized on Sunday, February 1. One or more burglars pried open a sliding glass door and stole a number of items. These included a Sony 53-inch HDTV, a Sony Play Station with games, and a Sony radio (gray). There is no suspect information. That`s why we need your tip. WHEEL THEFTS
February 04, 2009

Two seemingly related thefts occurred on Sunday and Monday nights, February 1 and 2. Each night, someone jacked up a GMC pickup truck and removed 2 rims/tires from eack truck. One occurred in the 500 block of Clifford Drive, and the other in the 1900 block of Primrose. Carefully, the perpetrator left each vehicle on cinder blocks so that the undercarriage of the truck was not damaged. But these are still thefts, and such individuals should be arrested. E. ROOSEVELT ST. BURGLARY
January 30, 2009

A residence on East Roosevelt Street, Heritage Square subdivision, was burglarized Thursday night, January 22. One or more burglars kicked in the back door and then helped themselves to the home`s contents. Among these were a Toshiba 42 inch HDTV, a Blackberry (gold in color), a DVD/VCR combo, Wii Nintendo, a transit measuring device (valued at $2000), and a laser elevation tool (valued at $1000). EXPRESSWAY HEIGHTS' CRIMES
January 30, 2009

     Two tool sheds on Beaumont Street were burglarized between January 22 and 25. Both addresses are in the 1800 block of Beaumont and close to each other. Taken from these sheds were a green Craftsman mower, a gray air compressor, and a battery charger. The suspect probably lives in the area. Call Crime Stoppers at 968-TIPS if you have a clue.
