VEHICLE BURGLARIES AT 1ST CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

At
1st Christian Academy, located at 521 S. Illinois, 3 vehicles parked at the school were broken into on January 20. In each case, the burglars broke vehicle windows and stole a variety of items from inside. These include a Canon digital camera, an HP digital camera, 2-Nintendo DS`s; a brown wallet with credit cards, 2-cases with DVD movies, and a Passport radar detector. These break-ins happened between 6:15 and 7:45pm. Drivers passing by on East 6th Street might have seen the suspects doing their dirty work. Call Crime Stoppers with your tip.
FARRELL PLUMBING BURGLARIZED

Farrell Plumbing, located at 2112 West Business 83, was burglarized on Sunday night, January 18. Burglars pried open a back door and stole several items. The main item was a UST generator, Model GG3500, blue in color. Other items, which were mainly tools, were recovered outside, where the burglars dropped them. CRIME ON RUBY STREET

A house on
Ruby Street in Weslaco`s Centerpoint subdivision was the target of burglars on January 11. Between 5PM and 9PM, unidentified burglars entered the unlocked home and stole a number of items.Taken were two TV sets, two gold rings, a VCR, an X-Box system, and 4-pairs of blue jeans. BURGLARY ON MORELAND DRIVE

In an apartment complex at 3737 Moreland Drive, one or more burglars broke the kitchen window of an apartment and stole television sets .This burglary occurred during the day on January 14. One TV set is a Toshiba 42-inch plasma, and the other is an LG 50-inch set. If you have an idea who these burglars are, contact Crime Stoppers.
COPPER WIRING STOLEN

At 124 N. Palo Blanco, in Park Meadows subdivision, back-to-back
burglaries occurred. Probably the same burglars entered a house under construction and cut and stole the recently installed electrical wiring. ROBBERS STRIKE POCKET COMMUNICATIONS

Pocket Communications, 113 S. Texas, was robbed on Friday, January 2, about 3pm. The two female salespersons in the store were threatened by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun. One robber held a pistol to the female`s forehead, while the other robber grabbed the second employee by the arms. The men fled with cash from the register. A third man was waiting outside in the getaway vehicle. One robber is described as having short hair, dark skin, medium to heavy build, and tattoos on his arms ("flames" tattoo on one arm). The second robber stood about 5 feet, 9 inches, weighed 170 pounds, and had "buzz cut" hair. One wore a purple shirt, while the other had on a white shirt with gray vertical stripes. The getaway vehicle was a newer model black pickup truck. These dangerous criminals need to be caught. Call Weslaco Crime Stoppers with any infromation.
BURGLARY AT CINDY'S ACADEMY

Burglars struck Cindy`s Academy, at 1418 W. 18th Street, on the night of Thursday, January 1, 2009. After breaking a window in a door, the perpetrators entered, stealing a video cassette player. The player`s brand name was not available. A previous burglary at the child day care occurred on the night of November 12, 2008. THEFT AT BEALL'S
December 29, 2008
A slick thief has hit Beall`s at Town Center in Weslaco 3 times this month. The latest theft was on December 29. Several gift sets of perfume or cologne were stolen. The thief is a male, standing about 5 feet, 7 inches, weighing 180 pounds. He has black hair. He drives a red 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, license plate number 185FLB. BEST LITTLE WAREHOUSE SUSPECT WANTED

The
Office of Best Little Warehouse, 502 E. Expressway 83, was robbed before noontime, Wednesday, December 3. At about 11:45AM, a Hispanic male entered the business, asking about rental prices of storage units. Almost immediately, the employee had an automatic handgun pointed at his head with the armed male demanding the money. The employee complied, turning over the business`s cash, but the suspect wanted more. The employee gave him the cash in his own wallet. Before the robber fled, he made the employee go to a back room. The employee was not injured.
UPDATE
One man has been arrested in this aggravated robbery. He is Eric Garza, age 26, of Mercedes. He drove the getaway vehicle. The other suspect is Rodolfo Leal, age 37, also of Mercedes.
