July 11, 2013
A number of vehicle burglaries have been occurring where both men and women park their cars to get out and exercise - at city parks and most recently at the southeast corner of Mile 10 North and Westgate Drive. This is just outside the gated community of Cotton Estates Central, or the SE corner of Mile 10Nand Mile 6 West.
Burglars are taking advantage of those that seek to improve their health by walking, running, and working out in these locations. The burglar usually breaks a car window and goes for the purse inside. It makes no difference if you think you have concealed your purse; he will find it.
In the July 11 break ins, he got only one purse, from a Suzuki vehicle. But there is a description of the culprit. He is a Hispanic male, tall, thin, wearing black shirt and pants. The defining aspect of this guy is the sunglasses he wore that have pink bows. Yes, they were pink!
He also was driving a black Ford Explorer.
If you have any idea who this vehicle burglar is, call Weslaco Crime Stoppers at (956) 968-8477, or just leave your information on this website.
