Catalytic Converters Stolen

Thieves hit
JDS Construction, 2202 N. Vo-Tech Drive, and stole catalytic converters from 5 work trucks. This crime happened Sunday night, August 12. They took apart the chain link fence to enter the compound and then used a saw to remove the converters from the 5 trucks. They left the old saw blades behind.

West 3rd St Burglary

Reported on July 2, a burglary occurred at a vacant house in the 1100 block of West 3rd St. The intruders pried open a window and kicked in a door to a storage room and stole several items. Taken were a refrigerator, a water heater, and the outside condenser to the air conditioning system. This type of burglary or theft occurs quite frequently to vacant houses or houses under construction.
If you know anything about this burglary or ever see suspicious activity around unoccupied houses, call the police just in case. You might help catch a burglar.
Patio Furniture Theft

Thieves are continuing to scour the city for things to steal. These are usually taken from residents` yards-front,
back, side-wherever they can find items they
can turn into money, so they can buy their drugs.
The latest target was on Audrey Drive, in southeast Weslaco. On June 17-18, these parasites swooped down on a property where there was patio furniture in the front yard, stealing a "bistro set" with a brown metal table and two metal swivel chairs with tan cushions.
If you see suspicious persons with furniture or large potted plants sticking out of their car or in their pickup bed, give the police department a call. Try to get a good description of the vehicle, including the license plate number. You might find these thieves selling at flea markets, if they have stolen any of your stuff.

Paradise Roadhouse Robbery

A man sitting in his vehicle at Paradise Roadhouse, 3700 East Expressway 83, was threatened with a knife and robbed of his wallet. The male friend with the victim was also threatened by the robber`s accomplice. One suspect is described
as a male, wearing a navy blue T-shirt and jeans. The getaway vehicle
was a 1999 or newer Ford Explorer, tan and blue in color.

Assault at Texas & 18th St

Perhaps caused by a case of road rage, a 44-year-old man was confronted
at the intersection of Texas Blvd. and 18th St by two men who gave him a beating that sent him to the hospital. During the original contact on Bridge Avenue, words and hand gestures were exchanged. The victim suffered a broken leg and multiple bruises.
Police are looking for witnesses who got at least a clothing description of the suspects. The suspects were supposed to be riding in a white sport utility
vehicle.

Attempted Church Burglary

The "Mid Valley Assembly" church, located at 131 S. Pleasant View Drive was almost again a victim of burglary. On Saturday night, May 5, at about 10:30,
an employee, just departing, discovered a man trying to break into the church`s storage building. The witness gave chase in her car, but she was unable to catch
the burglar.

Western Auro Burglarized
May 13, 2012
Western Auto, 321 S. Texas Blvd, was burglarized on Sunday, May 6, about 1:30am. A male walked up to the store`s front door, used a heavy object to break the glass door, and entered the store. He quickly went to a large screen HD television, picked it up, and walked out with it. All this before the police were able to answer the store`s alarm.
The suspect is described as follows:
Male, 5ft, 10in, fade haircut, mustache. At the time he wore a
short-sleeved button-type shirt with square designs.
He escaped in a gold Ford Windstar van.

Stripes S Bridge Robbed

A single robber entered the Stripes convenience store at
803 S. Bridge
Avenue, displayed a handgun, and took a small amount of cash and some cigarettes. This man wore a set of white coveralls, like a painter wears, and a black ski mask. The clerk was not injured in the robbery.

Stripes 901 Robbed
March 10, 2012
Two males robbed the Stripes convenience store,
on Border & Business 83, on March 10, at about 4am. One man threatened the clerk with a knife,
and both men helped themselves to cash, cigarettes, and beer.
Both men are Hispanic, about 20 years old. One wore a gray hoodie with a Texas Longhorns
logo on it. The other man had on a black hoodie
and wore black sunglasses.
